Issue #36 - The Key To Winning The Game

Read Time - 3 Minutes

Hey,

Lots of people get this wrong.

But not you, and not today.

Most think that business is about making money.

It's not, they are wrong.

Business is about making epic stuff.

But “epic” is not up to you.

Epic is up to your clients.

Too many people get lost chasing the money and forget about what brings the money.

And this is a sinister trap - because focusing on the money works.

If you focus on the money, you WILL make money.

But not for long.

Why?

Because when you get lost chasing revenue through marketing and sales tactics, you forget about what's truly important - which is the product being good.

And every dollar you make will lead to people talking about you and your business.

But if your product is not good, the talk won’t be good.

This creates a negative downward spiral where you have to spend more time, money, and energy trying to sell your product just to offset the damage done by your last sale.

People talk and the talk spreads.

Expand this over a year and people will be very skeptical about doing business with you.

The opposite is the key.

Make your products so good that the experience of consumption leads people to want more.

Here’s a case study for you.

I have a product called Accelerator that I sell for $37.

I could easily sell this product for $499+…

But I know when people buy this product - (I know this because it’s been expressed to me multiple times) - they’ll be surprised that it’s only $37.

And guess what happens…

People take the next step, they join my Mastermind or apply to work with me 1-on-1. (both of which were built with the same intention)

That’s the power of making something epic.

The biggest tech companies like Uber, Apple, AirBNB, Google, Tesla etc… know this and understand that product design is marketing and sales.

They relentlessly focus on finding something called product-market-fit (worth studying) which is the point in time where they’ve made their product SO good, it basically sells itself.

That’s the ideal all of us as entrepreneurs should be aspiring to.

That’s this week's email.

Write back if you enjoyed it, I read and reply to every email.

Adios!
