One of the most common questions I get asked is “Abraham, what type of content should I create in order to grow my brand and my business?”
In today's newsletter, I’m going to answer this question for you.
If you run an internet business and your business relies on content to drive sales and business growth there are 4 types of content that you should be creating:
- Content that educates
- Content that inspires
- Content that connects
- Content that converts
Each of these types of content serves a different purpose and to build a profitable personal brand you need to master them all.
Let’s dive into each of these.
Educational content is a type of content that aims to inform and teach your audience.
The goal of educational content is to establish your authority in your field and provide value to your audience.
When I am creating this type of content my intention is to teach/educate and the emotion I want people to feel when they consume this content is - “Wow, I just learned something!”
Inspirational content is a type of content that aims to motivate and uplift your audience.
The goal of inspirational content is to connect with your audience on an emotional level and inspire them to make positive changes in their lives.
When I am creating this type of content my intention is to motivate and the emotion I want people to feel is “I can do anything!”
Connection content is a type of content that aims to build a relationship with your audience.
The goal of this type of content is to humanize YOU in their eyes. When creating connection content, focus on authenticity and transparency.
When I create this type of content, my intention is to help the person connect with me as a person. The emotion I want them to feel is “This dude is a cool cat, I like him!”
Conversion content is a type of content that aims to convert your audience into customers.
The goal of this type of content is to drive sales and revenue for your business by persuading your audience to take action.
When I create this type of content, my intention is to help to have the person take a specific action. This could be to dm me, go to my website or book a call with me. The emotion I want them to feel is “I got to do this right now!”
Now you are probably wondering, how much of each content do you need?
If your goal is to use content to grow you brand and your business a good rule of thumb to follow is:
- Education - 50%
- Inspiration - 25%
- Connection - 20%
- Conversion - 5%
When it comes to content, I've seen other coaches recommend - Entertaining Content - as a part of their content framework.
The way I see it is that if done right, every piece of content should entertain the person consuming the content.
The question of how to make content entertaining and engaging is a subject I'll leave for a different email.
That about does it for this one.
One more thing, a while back I shared a 26-page guide on the 2023 way to build a multi-six-figure coaching business.
I realized a lot of you haven't checked out this guide.
If this is you and you haven't checked it out yet, it will make for a great weekend read.
It's packed with a ton of gems.
In the guide I share:
- How to attract coaching clients instead of chasing them
- How to differentiate yourself from every other coach selling coaching
- How to structure your coaching offer so its irresistible, unique and expensive
- An in-Depth breakdown of the 4 systems needed to run a healthy $6-figure coaching business
